Most Building cleaners workers work indoors, but work outdoors part of the time. They spend most of their day walking, standing, or bending while cleaning and sometimes need to move or lift heavy supplies and equipment. Some work during the day, but many work evening hours after most employees have left. Some work in shifts that include nights, or may need to work on holidays, or weekends. Most work full time.

Planning and doing the basic maintenance on equipment
Repairing machines or systems using the right tools
Figuring out what is causing equipment, machines, wiring, or computer programs to not work
Deciding what kind of tools and equipment are needed to do a job
