Why should I see my School Counselor?

School counselors assist students at all levels, from elementary school to college, on overcoming challenges and building skills for academic, career and personal/social success. You can talk with your school counselor about anything. As students progress through middle and high school, school counselors are a particularly great resource for helping you with making choices that will guide you to the right path for assessing your personal strengths, skills and abilities, navigating various pressures you’re facing, taking the best courses to prepare you for your career interests, and understanding and reviewing career and college options beyond high school.

Did you know that you need to complete the FAFSA for financial assistance for any post-high school education? Your school counselor can help you with that. School counselors can also help you with searching through scholarship opportunities that are best for you to help pay for your education after high school.
