Some shuttle drivers and chauffeurs are self-employed while others contract with a company that refers passengers and allows the driver to use their facilities for a fee. Driving for long periods, especially in heavy traffic, can be stressful. In addition, they often have to pick up heavy luggage and packages. Work hours vary. Evening and weekend work is common. Some drivers work very late at night or early in the morning. They often work with little or no supervision, and work schedules are flexible.
